Open Letter from Texas Campaign for the Environment (2-8-05)
Dear Austinites:

Many of you are familiar with Texas Campaign for the Environment, run by Robin Schneider. TCE is one of the most effective environmental advocacy organizations in Texas. For almost 15 years, TCE has been mobilizing Texans to protect our natural resources and the quality of our lives.

Under Robin's leadership, TCE has recently been at the forefront of successful efforts to finally persuade major computer manufacturers like Dell to participate in equipment recycling efforts, keeping millions of pounds of toxin-filled electronics out of landfills.

In short, Robin and TCE are doing very good things for you and me - and so I'm writing to ask you to consider returning the favor (while having some fun, too).

This Friday, February 11th, TCE is holding its inaugural "Earth Night" celebration - a concert at Ruta Maya Coffeehouse featuring Austin's own very cool singer-songwriter Slaid Cleaves and band .  The  Garreth Broesche Trio will open the show with  mandolin driven acoustic jazz and classic swing.  The evening will also include honors for two Texans - Rick Lowerre and Bob Gregory - who exemplify the good fight.

I hope you will please consider making a contribution to TCE to attend "Earth Night."  Tickets are $20.

You can get more info about "Earth Night" and even pay for tickets or reserve a sponsor's table at http://www.texasenvironment.org/earthnight2005.htm      Or you can just call TCE at 512-326-5655 to make the necessary arrangements.  Or you can get tickets from me.

Please consider parting with just a little cash to help this great organization continue its important work!

Thank You,
Dick Davis, TCE Public Relations Manager
